Project 3

Project 3 builds on the work produced from Project 1 and 2, bringing all components together into a final product. Through weekly activities, I refined the UI screens, created a higher-fidelity case, improved the circuit and conducted deeper user testing through bodystorming. These steps helped me unify the project, strengthening my knowledge and skills across multiple areas of design.

Workshop 1

Our group's prompt: 'The New App User' Paper Prototype Screens - Banking App Interface User Testing in Action - Bodystorming User attempting to complete a task. Providing “screen” responses and switching out elements.

Workshop 2

Soldering Workshop Step 1: Use the helping hands to hold wires in place. Step 2/3/4/5: Wait for the iron to heat up, warm the point of contact, melt solder material and finally, add solder to join the two pieces together. Final Project 3 Prototype

The final deliverable is a simple alarm and timer app paired with a portable, wearable and placeable device that supports everyday life for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community.

The device is activated through the phone at first, but once a timer or alarm is set, it can function on its own and the phone does not need to be present to turn it off. It alerts the user through LED-based flashes to get their attention.
